Sustainably caught seafood. Locally sourced produce. An eco-conscious ethos. That’s what defines Fresh Catch Poke Co.

There are a lot of fast-casual restaurants popping up these days. Our aim is to stand out from the crowd. At Fresh Catch, we believe our poke is more than just some ingredients scooped into a bowl. Our products help you commit to a healthy lifestyle for your body and our world. At its best, poke employs the traditional Hawaiian dish with the spirit of sushi but deconstructed to enhance and elevate each of the ingredients. To do this responsibly requires a lot of work—and a lot of love. Let us explain:

Our Seafood

Lots of sushi and poke restaurants brag about “wild caught” fish. When done responsibly that’s a good thing, but often commercial fishing companies are actually hurting our planet by raking the sea clean in order to keep up with the increase in global demand. Conversely, the term “fish farm” has gotten a bad rap—sometimes fairly, sometimes not. Just like some “wild caught” companies, there are good and bad fish farms.

At Fresh Catch Poke Co., we investigate every fish partner to ensure they meet our standards before we ever serve the product. We work primarily with suppliers in Hawaii, Boston and the Faroe Islands, some of the world leaders in aquaculture management.  We don’t use misleading buzzwords to disguise fishing practices that harm delicate underwater ecosystems.

Instead, we make one simple commitment: Although our sources may change based on seasonable availability, every fish we use is sourced from a sustainable, eco-friendly partner. In fact, we only work with fish suppliers who are Seafood Watch Program partners, the industry-leading sustainable seafood initiative developed by the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Eat REAL® Certified

The carbon footprint associated with large agribusiness produce suppliers can be astronomical, and often the fruits and vegetables they provide are of substandard quality. Why does a cucumber need to be picked too early (robbing it of the chance to develop its full nutrient potential) and then shipped across the country when there’s a farm or greenhouse across town growing the same thing? It’s why we’re committed to sourcing as much local produce as we can, which in turn helps support the local economy.

We’ve worked hard to ensure that our restaurant is Eat REAL® certified, a designation reserved as a nationally-recognized mark of excellence for food and foodservice operators committed to holistic nutrition and environmental stewardship. The result speaks for itself: It’s the freshest food you can eat.

Our Footprint

Our food is only part of the story. At Fresh Catch Poke Co. you’ll find that all of our packaging and tableware is biodegradable and compostable. We’re even working with local compost companies to transform our kitchen waste into something that helps power future organic growth.

The result is as simple as it is profound. At Fresh Catch Poke, we use the best possible ingredients to create flavor-rich bowls that are good for you, and good for the environment.
